CFRT in automobile

Recently we had a research on Apple’s iPad series. It’s amazing that iPad Air 2 weighs about 280g less than its first generation iPad I and 181g less than the previous model. Only 437g, how light it is! It seems that customers are laying more emphasis on the lightweight factor of products they purchase and equally – so are brands. No matter electronic items, house appliances or footwear, this era seems to be looking out for smaller, slicker, lighter products.

Apple is a favorite leading brand who spread the trend to a wide range of companies to design lighter, smaller and more recyclable products.

The global lightweight materials industry has been experiencing strong growth from various industries including medical, military, building and electronics. Along with lightweight materials, comes the nanotechnology, which considerably improved and revolutionized many technology industry sectors. Composite materials can be effectively made stronger, lighter, and more durable through nanotechnology. Nanoscale additives can make composite materials more lightweight and resilient. Cost-efficient lightweight designing and manufacturing is a challenge for many industries to deal with in the near future.
